Chiropractic Care in Connecticut

Should You Go to a Chiropractor?

Part of the chiropractic approach involves determining whether the body’s natural structure has caused problems with the functions in other areas of your body because of reactions in the nervous system. Structural changes can affect the nerves and the spinal cord by affecting the normal communication of information from the brain to the rest of the body.

Along with specialized chiropractic treatment, Dr. Donn Innaimo and the team at Innaimo Chiropractic will provide you with rehabilitation exercises, advice on posture and stress management and nutritional advice. The most important aspect of chiropractic care is the comprehensive approach to treatment and management of a patient’s unique condition.

About Chiropractic Care

The non-invasive, drug-free, hands-on approach focuses on patient examination, diagnosis and customized treatment. Through diagnostics, we are trained to recommend therapeutic and rehabilitative exercises to patients. We also recognize the importance and health-related benefits of nutrition and proper lifestyle choices.

Chiropractic Adjustments

At its most basic, chiropractors perform a therapeutic procedure called spinal adjustment or chiropractic manipulation.

In most cases, back pain emanates from the misalignment (called vertebral subluxation) of the spinal vertebrae. The subluxation, basically an impinged nerve, causes irritations of the spinal nerve which in turn inhibits the normal nerve flow from the brain to the tissue. A gentle chiropractic adjustment is used to realign the spine

Chiropractic Techniques

One technique that I have found especially helpful to my patients at Innaimo Chiropractic is Activator. I like to show this to my new patients using my Activator device. I often tell patients, “It may not feel like it’s doing anything, but it does.” It’s very effective and my go-to technique for many patients.

If it’s best for the patient, I also can do what we call the “diversified” technique. I make it a priority to always ensure patients are at ease when they’re being adjusted, and I’m proud to say my patients are always happy with their adjustment!

Fascial Release

We’ll find tender areas where muscles and connective tissue are producing pain and restricted movement and gently release it.

Bowen Technique

Gentle rolling motions along the muscles and tendons.

Graston Technique

Instrument assisted soft tissue manipulation.

Nutrition Response Testing (NRT)

Allows us to develop specific nutritional protocols based on the person’s needs.
